With the flu season hitting us hard right now, thought I’d share four steps to get your medicine cabinet (drawer, container, shelf) looking and functioning beautifully, even though you may not be!

Step 1:  Gather together any medicine-related items.

Step 2:  Sort by category.

Category examples: adult, children, cough & cold, stomach, bandages, first aid, allergy, ear & eye, pain, prescription, vitamins, pet

Step 3:  Toss anything that has expired.

Helpful link:  Proper disposal

Step 4:  Determine best location to keep, and then place grouped items.

  • Use containers of some kind to keep neat, easy to get to and easy to put away:

These containers available at the Container Store: Medicine Cabinet Starter Kit

  • Label containers or shelves:

Love how The Home Edit used different types of containers (including two lazy susans)

  • To best utilize vertical part of shelf, use drawer organizer:

Stay warm – and well!
